Hosta 'Robert Frost'

(Lachman 1988)

Clump Size: (L) 42" x 23"

Leaf Size: 10" x 9" -- Vein Pairs: 12 - 14

Description: Large oval leaves are dark green with a slight bluish cast in the spring surrounded by a creamy yellow to near white margin that feathers back towards the center, producing some very attractive variegation.

Blooms: Near white flowers bloom in midsummer.

Comments: Hosta 'Robert Frost' is a classic hosta that is easy to grow, forming a nice large clump. It is somewhat similar to other edge variegated Hosta sieboldiana types such as Hosta 'Great Arrival' and Hosta 'Northern Exposure' but tends to be more greenish with more streaky variation in the margin.

Light: Part sun to full shade. -- Soil: Rich, moist, well-drained.

Similar Plants: American Halo, Great Arrival, Northern Exposure

Zones: 2 - 8
