Description: Leaves are distinctly upright and slightly cupped, elliptic shaped, dark green with a pure white margin and the variegation continues all the way down the long, wide petioles.

Blooms: Lavender striped flowers bloom in August and early September.

Comments: This sport of Hosta rectifolia is known as Hosta 'Ginbuchi Tachi' in Japan but has been renamed Hosta 'Silver Star' in the US to distinguish it from the registered plant of Hosta 'Ginbuchi Tachi' which differs significantly from the hosta we are selling. This plant also differs from Hosta 'Kinbuchi Tachi' by having a white margin all summer long while Hosta 'Kinbuchi Tachi' has a creamy yellow margin in spring.

Light: Part sun to light shade. -- Soil: Rich, moist, well-drained.
