Hosta 'Sunlight Child'

(Benedict 1991)

Clump Size: (MINI) 8" x 4"

Leaf Size: 3" x 1" -- Vein Pairs: 3 - 4

Description: This small hosta has slightly shiny, lance shaped and wavy leaves that emerge chartreuse turning yellow. The base of the petioles are lightly dotted with purple for an attractive combination.

Blooms: Beautiful, medium violet flowers are bloom in July on foliated scapes with purple markings at the base.

Comments: This is a 4th generation Tardiana seedling from the late Herb Benedict. It has grown fairly well for us in our shady growing areas and is very pretty, especially when flowering.

Light: Light sun to full shade. -- Soil: Humus-rich, moist but well-drained soil.
