Humulus 'Bianca'

Humulus lupulus 'Bianca', golden hops vine, is a twining vine with chartreuse turning lime-green foliage and golden bract like flowers that bear hops fruit in late summer. It grows 18 to 20' in a season but dies back in the winter. Plant it as a backdrop along a fence, arbor, or trellis or grow it as a focal point on an obelisk in the center of the garden.

The base of the vines are often sparse so it works well to underplant them with bushy perennials such as daylilies, euphorbia, Iris, Sedum, or groundcovers.

Height: 18 - 20' Spacing: 36" apart
Light: Part sun to light shade Soil: Any average to rich, well-draining
Bloom Time: Late summer Zones: 3 - 9
