Hydrangea 'Hayes Starburst'

Hydrangea 'Hayes Starburst' is a unique H. arborescens selection with flat, star-like florets that bloom on new wood from mid-summer to fall. It forms a low, sprawling clump about 2 to 3' tall and 3 to 4' wide and likes regular moisture in a part to full sun.

This species of Hydrangea flowers on new wood so it blooms very reliably, even in cold climates. It grows in full sun but prefers some shade during the heat of the day. For the sturdiest stems and largest flowers you should cut the plants back flush to the ground in late fall or early spring and our field grown plants will be shipped cut back when shipped.

Height: 2 to 3' Spacing: 3' apart
Light: Full sun to part shade Soil: Humus rich, moist but well-draining
Bloom Time: Summer Zones: 3 - 9
