The spring catalog has been a big hit so far and we continue to take orders for spring shipping going on now to mid May. You can plant dormant and semi-dormant bare root plants as soon as your ground is completely thawed and workable. As long as it is draining well it is the perfect time to plant, or you can tell us your preferred ship time at checkout by writing in the week you would like your plants shipped in the box during checkout.

Bare root shipping and planting is best done while the plants are still dormant and your ground is workable and drains well. Up here in Michigan our dormant planting time starts in early April and goes into May. Most of our plants can ship in April to mid-May and transplant just fine, so that is our bare root shipping window for perennials. Hostas, bearded Iris, and daylilies are warm season growers that can be shipped all summer long and into the fall but you will want to preorder now for shipping in April, May, or early June. Remember, please let us know your preferred shipping time/week at checkout. If you want us to choose your shipping time we will look up your average spring temps and ship when your average high is 60 and your average low is 40. This is usually the time that your ground is workable and draining well, and not too hot to shock the plants.
