Matteuccia (ostrich fern) from Hallson Gardens: We ship ferns while dormant in April to mid-May, again in the fall, plus they are available at the nursery in the summer. These are 2 to 3 year old crowns from cultivated stock shipped bare root.

Matteuccia struthiopteris

Matteuccia struthiopteris, or ostrich ferns, have large 36 to 60", upright deep green fronds that form a distinct vase shape. They like rich, moist soil for best growth yet are vigorous spreaders under any conditions.
