Amsonia 'Storm Cloud' is a willow blue star that emerges in the spring with near black stems and very dark green leaves followed by light periwinkle blue flowers in late spring.     Echinacea 'Cheyenne Spirit'

    Echinacea 'Cheyenne Spirit' is a mixed color strain with an assortment of vibrant colors including red, yellow, orange, purple, and white.  The plants grow 24 to 30" high with fragrant flowers and while each plant only flowers in one color there are often multiple seedlings that grow into one clump to give the appearance of more than one color in a group.

    Heliopsis 'Tuscan Gold'

    Heliopsis 'Tuscan Gold' has 24 to 32" stems topped with many sunny yellow, daisy-like flowers with an orange-gold button center over somewhat mildew resistant, deep green foliage. This Proven Winners ® perennial selection differs from Heliopsis 'Tuscan Sun' by having slightly more yellow flowers that are also slightly larger.  Honestly we couldn't tell the difference right away but these actually sold a little better in our nursery when growing each variety side by side.     Monarda 'Beebop'

    Monarda punctata 'Beebop' (PPAF) is a compact selection of the native spotted horsemint with spotted, yellow flowers surrounded by attractive pink bracts, growing 24" high and spreading 24 to 30" wide.  Spotted horsemint is a drought tolerant plant that is happy in the prairie or meadow garden.  It is a favorite plant for many pollinators including bees and hummingbirds and in our gardens it is a favorite for the gentle but giant great black wasps which love to drink nectar all summer long from the masses of flowers.

    Monarda fistulosa

    Monarda fistulosa is a bee balm native to prairies, unplanted fields, and dry rocky woodlands.  Bees, butterflies, and hummingbirds enjoy the light lavender flowers all summer long.  These are much more drought tolerant and mildew resistant than the Monarda didyma hybrids but are easy to grow and a wonderful plant for the wildflower garden.

    Papaver 'Fruit Punch' is a mixed seed strain of Oriental poppy with 5" ruffled flowers with a dark center.  Each plant will be a single color which can range from light to bright orange, varying shade of pink, purple, or rarely red.  Most of the plants we've seen flower over the last few years have been pastel colors in pink or orange which are actually quite nice as they are not the normal colors you would see in poppies.
